Traditional Test Automation is Difficult and Expensive:
Automated software testing tools on the market fall into two broad categories:
Record & Playback. Relatively easy to use with no scripting skills needed. However, Record & Playback is rigid, inflexible and extremely time-consuming. Software changes, however minor, require complete re-recording. The software industry has largely moved away from this approach.
